Simply stated… I am happy to have another deployment complete. And, I’m grateful for my faith,
family and friends that made this journey with us again.
Upon returning to Ft. Campbell I knew what to expect. Even
so, the emotions were overwhelming at times.
Rain followed us East and once
again I prayed for good weather so we could be outside of the hangar to watch
the plane arrive and Gale Wallhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08480797666445643303noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1916342419666760034.post-44576893449373585982013-08-08T10:16:00.001-05:002013-08-08T12:20:08.275-05:00Summer visitWe drove to Ft. Campbell a few weeks before Clay returned so the kids could have a summer vacation with Nana and PaPa.
We returned them just in time for school to start and to welcome Clay home. We love our munchkins!

We haven't had much communication with him this time and life has been busy for me. I'm thankful my lack of posts didn't keep him out of the prayer time of so many that have supported us through these separations.

You know I love to snap a pic of good stuff like this
Today I do so with a thankful heart.
He finally arrived to his destination and is settling in to do the tasks at hand. I pray he finds rest during his deployment. After all, there are few days off in war.

When Clay came home from the first deployment he removed his yellow ribbon. We have our new ribbon ready to go up when he leaves again. We have a little while before he leaves but my mind is already there.
We have another family member deployed at this time too. Our nephews wife left earlier this year. We have a ribbon on the other tree for her. While looking through the items being saved in his Army memory box I came across a few things from his boot camp days and thought I'd share those with you.
Mail from Clay and his graduation program
I love how Clay addressed this
We wrote to him almost every day in boot camp

I had good intentions to share about some of the things from his return and will do so before long since I (still) intend to have this blog printed into book form. I also think I needed a break from the daily worry that came with the deployment and just enjoyed the knowledge of his safe return the best I could.
Upon his return we took Gale Wallhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08480797666445643303noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1916342419666760034.post-6375247428425064232011-05-31T16:40:00.000-05:002011-05-31T16:40:39.916-05:00Memory BoxI knew Clayton would need something to hold items from his time in the Army and deployment to Afghanistan. I wanted it to be special and asked our dear friend Dr. Chad Issinghoff to craft a box for us. And what a beautiful box he designed and presented to us.
It will hold the things Clayton will look back on in his older years. Thank you, Chad and Debbie, for your friendship, love and Gale Wallhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08480797666445643303noreply@blogger.com0
